There are a number of different common video game genres out there, including adventure games, action games, racing games and role playing games. Lately, a new type of video game has been gaining significant popularity: The activity video game. The Nintendo Wii Fit video game, made for the wii consoles, is not the first video game to introduce physical activity as the main focus for completing the game, though it is the first Nintendo wii console video game to promote aerobic and callisthenic exercise. The Wii console is a Nintendo gaming console that has gained popularity because it allows plays to incorporate their entire bodies into much of the game play. Rather than hold a stationary controller with a small handful of buttons, Wii gaming controllers require waving, twisting, turning, slashing and a variety of other motions in order for many of the Wii games to be played.

Wii Fit is the new lifestyle product for the Wii Console that combines the fun of gaming with the benefits of exercise.
